Cardiomyopathy “heart muscle disease” is a serious disease in which the heart muscles becomes inflamed and doesn’t work as well as it should. People with cardiomyopathy are often at risk of arrhythmia or a sudden heart attack.

• Dialated cardiomyopathy

    - Irregular heart beats (arrhythmias)

    - Heart murmurs

    - Increased blood pressure

    - Blood clots

    - In young children, signs include: short strature, decreased immune system and neuropenia (decrease in WBC count)

• Hetroprophic cardiomyopathy

    - Shortness of breath during physical activities

    - Dizziness

    - Fainting

    - Chest pain(angina pectoris)

    - If hereditary, then an enlarged septum is observed

• Restrictive cardiomyopathy

    - Fatigue

    - Swollen hands and feet

    - Difficulty breathing
