  Low Fiber diet

A diet low in fiber is low fiber diet. Low fiber diet is prescribed to prevent if there is any irritation of the bowel. Low fiber diet is given before or after abdominal surgery, ulcerative colitis, bowel obstruction, ischemic colitis. Low fiber foods leave only a small amount of residue and slowdowns bowel activity. And this will prevent irritation of bowel and provides rest. A low fiber diet contains less than 10gms of fiber per day.

Low fiber foods:

White rice, ripe bananas, cookies, pasta, maida, tender meats and fish, soft vegetables like potatos, beetroots, carrots, strained vegetable juices, milk, cooked eggs, strained fruit juices, canned fruit, noodles, spaghetti, buns, bagels.
