Coffee is relatively safe it has no adverse health effects on most of the population. Depending of the strength of coffee it may contain 20 to 100 mg caffeine. Because of its stimulating effect some people avoid coffee. Coffee has stimulating effects on the central nervous system, heart which are due to caffeine. Coffee helps in some functional disorders which are caused due to lack of dopamine, as coffee is able to increase the dopamine formation in brain. During the coffee bean roasting process vitamin Niacin is formed in greater amounts from trigonelline, in deficiency of niacin coffee may be good. Trigonelline in coffee has anti-adhesive and antibacterial properties, which helps prevent cavities.

But too much caffeine should not be good for health. Too much coffee increases the production of stomach acid.
