Yes antioxidants are good for living beings since they act against free radicals that form in our bodies after we eat. Antioxidants are substance that prevents cell damage by inhibiting oxidation i.e., a chemical reaction that produces free radicals which results in DNA damage in the cells. These free radicals are produced regularly in our bodies as by-products of natural metabolic processes. These free radical leads to illnesses such as cancer etc. In some cases antioxidant supplements may be harmful when taken in large quantities.

Oxidants enter the body from fatty foods, inhaled smoke in the air, alcohol etc. These can leave unwanted elements into our bodies that can give problem to body cells. People don’t prefer eating vegetable and fruit rather they go for fried items, this negligence is one reason why the body is not able to fight the incoming poison. Antioxidants can help to protect our body against cancer cells and reduces the fat in blood stream.
Tomatoes, oranges, papaya etc are very good sources of antioxidant. Vitamin C is also a rich source of antioxidant which helps in developing immunity.
