For healthy heart one should eat a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, fiber and fish at
least twice a week in case of non-vegetarian.Other tips are as follows,
• Avoid saturated fatty foods cakes, pastries, and burger etc, increase blood cholesterol.
• Limit salt intake (6 gm/day).
• Take multivitamin and mineral supplements.
• Maintain healthy weight by consuming fiber and carbohydrate rich foods such as oats, beans, peas, whole grains, cereals etc.
• Go for regular screening.
• Control diabetes.
• Reduce stress with relaxation exercise.
• Have a good sleep hours (7-8 hours).
• Reduce intake of soft and energy drinks.
• Avoid or moderate drinking alcohol.
• Quit smoking lowers risk of heart, respiratory, cancer, emphysema etc.
• Don’t take medication with out consulting doctor.
• Regular cardio exercise keeps heart healthy by lowering the blood pressure and cholesterol.
