Cancer of the colon or rectum is called colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer begins from adenomatous polyps in the colon. Colorectal cancer is more common in people over 50 years, and the risk increases with age. If left untreated, this cancer grows and spread through the colon wall to involve the adjacent lymph nodes and organs.
