Epilepsy is a chronic brain disorder that affects the nervous system. This is also known as seizure disorder. It is characterized by recurrent unprovoked seizures. These seizures are transient signs of abnormal, excessive or synchronous neuronal activity in the brain. It is a condition where the brain cells are known to conduct abnormal motor and sensory function. Patients with epilepsy may have intense muscle spasm and may also loose consciousness.
