I was disgonised for Lymph nodes in the chest or bronchits. I went ot doctor and he has advised me Trans Bronchital Bioposy. The general symptoms accoriding the doctor are wieight loss, frequent fever and cough with spouts. I had cough for some time and now i dont even have that. I was also digionised of not having TB. My question is - is it necessary to have trans bronchital bioposy? Second one is can i travel for longer periods say for 3-4 months overseas to middle east or asia pacific as my job requires travel to various places. Can any one tell me why the nodes develop and what will be the side effect.

The mediastinal lymph nodes are not usually visualized on an X-ray or act scan unless they have been enlarged. This enlargement of nodes can be caused by chronic infections like tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, lymphormas, leukemias and due to occupational lung diseases like silicosis, asbestosis etc., these nodes enlarge due to a problem in the lymph nodes per say like lymphomas or secondary to a problem in draining area of lymph nodes. So, if you have been suffering from frequent fever with cough, it is definetly advisable to go for a biopsy. A biopsy facilitates a histologic study of cells, which gives you a definite diagnosis. ldquo;A problem well defined is half solvedrdquo; So once you have the diagnosis you will know what measures or precautious you need to follow
